মনে রাখার মতো তথ্য
A noun is a word used to refer to people, animals, objects, substances, states, events, ideas, and feelings (Lesson 1).
Nouns are either countable (can be counted, have singular & plural) or uncountable (cannot be counted: bread, news, money).
Regular plurals take '-s', while nouns ending in 'ss', 'ch', 's', 'sh', or 'x' take '-es' (watches, classes, boxes).
Nouns ending in a consonant + 'y' change to '-ies' (countries, ladies), while vowel + 'y' simply adds '-s' (boys, keys, monkeys).
Irregular plurals change internal vowels or structure: child -> children, foot -> feet, tooth -> teeth, mouse -> mice, woman -> women.
Personal pronouns have subjective form (I, he, they), objective form (me, him, them), and possessive forms.
Possessive determiners (my, our, your, his, her, their) precede a noun; independent possessive pronouns (mine, ours, yours, hers, theirs) stand alone.
Adjectives describe nouns; '-ing' adjectives describe the effect or cause on feelings (boring, exciting), while '-ed' past participles describe personal feelings (bored, excited).
Adverbs modify verbs ('Sit quietly!'), adjectives ('rather quiet'), other adverbs ('incredibly slowly'), noun phrases ('quite a lot of courage'), or entire sentences ('Personally, I don't like the plans').
Any adverb or adverbial phrase that modifies a verb is called an adverbial, classified into manner (how), place (where), and time (when).
Prepositions (in, on, at, with, for, by, to, of) are followed by a noun or noun equivalent and establish contextual relations.
Conjunctions (and, but, or, because, yet) connect words, phrases, and clauses into cohesive sentences.
Interjections (Wow, Alas, Oops, Omg, Hurrah) express intense spontaneous emotions such as joy, pain, surprise, or disgust.
